Mechanical Engineering is known as the broadest-based engineering discipline with the opportunity to specialise in composites, material science, aerodynamics, vibration analysis, mechatronics, or thermodynamics.
The School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Howard College Campus) consists of 12 academic staff members, 16 non-academic staff members, 374 undergraduates registered for the BScEng (Mech) degree, and 20 postgraduates registered for MScEng and 7 registered for their PhD.
